Teachers have an incredible weight on their shoulders. Teaching the youth, preparing them for life, and learning all the skills they need to continue their education. But elementary teachers probably have the most difficult time. Being energetic and creative are two must-have qualities, and sometimes it isn’t always easy. But when you find what works in your classroom, you can continue to use those ideas for years to come. When walking into an elementary class, say kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade, what is one thing you notice? The classrooms are colorful! There are always many things on the walls from complete projects to graphs and charts. Children need to have some kind of interactive setting to get their focus and create excitement. One of the first items you’ll need to decorate your classroom is a border. Borders can be pretty much anything you can think of, and they will help to tie the room together or even create a theme. Many popular options for the Kindergarten classes are the use of the ABC’s border. This is just another area where teachers can reinforce concepts of learning. If you want something a little less educational, because there will be probably a bunch of that going on elsewhere on the walls, you can choose animals, stars, or even rocketships. Objects that are hung from the ceiling are also great points of interest and can tie into themes as you go along. The stars theme can be matched with rocket ships and boom you have a whole classroom set up for learning. When you create a behavior chart, you can use space helmets or something of that nature, and it will have the kids eager to learn and behave. Probably one of the most used ideas teachers will use to have something more interactive for the students is the reward system for reading. Not only is this an excellent way for kids to be more enthused about their reading, but it also allows them the fun of trying to reach a goal. Making your classroom the envy of all other teachers and their students can feel like a challenge. But there are numerous sites that allow you to pick up materials to decorate your classroom. From borders to hangups and beyond, putting together your class once can have you set up for years to come. Not only is this great because you won’t have to think about it next year, but it can also save you money in the long run.
